UStamp - Icecream Card

I am participating again in UStamp which has many fantastic ideas using Stampin' Up products. This card I made especially for Lynette's birthday that is today. I gave it to her this morning so I can now post it on here, as I know she checks out my blog regularly. Hi Lynette, keep cool and enjoy your day...it's 40C+ here in Adelaide for the 4th day in a row and looks like it will be above 38C for the next week. Lucky the airconditioner is working well and hopefully the fires stay away here in the Adelaide Hills, the water bombers are located here at Woodside and were up in the air before attending a fire at Lenswood but looks like this is out now.

Stamp Set: Wanted, Congrats
Ink: Versamark, River Rock
Card: Whisper White, Creamy Caramel, Soft Sky, Bayou Blue, Light Blue, Bright Blue, Wintergreen Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Gold Brads, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 1 1/4" Square Punch

Sketch Saturday #35 & Inspiration Challenge #3

I thought I would participate in a challenge instead of watching the television as the Aussies are not going so well against South Africia in the Cricket match at Adelaide Oval on this public holiday of Australia Day.

Instead of one challenge I have decided to combine two with the Sketch Saturday #35 and Makeesha Byl's Inspiration Challenge #3.

Stamp Set: Botanical Blooms, Lots of Thoughts
Ink: Rose Red, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky
Card: Whisper White, Rose Red, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky
Accessories: Blue Bayou Double-Stitched Ribbon, Small Tag Punch, Large Tag Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Punch

I was a very lucky winner..

Wow!! Look what arrived in my mail box on Friday a beautiful selection of Stampin' Up ribbons which I look forward to having some time in the coming weeks to use. The lovely and very generous Leonie Hegarty had some blog candy up for grabs on her blog and I was the lucky winner. Leonie also enclosed one of her handcrafted cards utilising the Live Your Dreams stamp set. (I hope I have included the right description for her card, if I am wrong please accept my apologies.)

Stamp Set: Live Your Dreams
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip
Card: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Confetti White, Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper

This afternoon I completed the Mojo Monday and used one of the stamp sets I have had for a long time (well when I was first introduced to stamps in April last year) but have also had a little trouble coordinating it but over the last two weeks I have really enjoyed utilising it.

PS Now I have taken the photo and upload on here I have noticed that one of the roses has moved and is not straight, oh well, I have change the card but can not be bothered taking another photo.

Stampin' Addition Weekly Layout Challenge

Nerine each week now has a layout challenge and since I am still on holidays I am taking the opportunity to participate in lots of challenges, I have more on my list but have only had time for one today.

Everyone has been talking about Valentine's Day and I have decided to make one using all the stamp set that I have that have hearts in them. I chose to use the traditional red and white colours but I am really not happy with the finished card as I think it is too busy (too many hearts, but that means lots of love).

Makeesha Sketch Challenge

It's hotting up here in Adelaide today, but 41 tomorrow that's hot! I wanted to do another challenge today. After spending the day looking at how dry the lower lakes at Milang and Clayton were and so depressing it is for the people living in such a terrible situation. So to cheer me up this evening I got out the stamps and completed this whilst enjoying the airconditioned comfort of my lounge room (not the normal craft room, but that does not have the cooling). This is another first for me, oh I have loved being on holidays to have the time to fit these challenges in as usually the cut off has been before I even discover them. Thanks to Makeesha Byl for this sketch challenge, and I look forward to making more in the coming months ahead.

Stamp Set: Eastern Blooms
Ink: Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie
Card: Whisper White, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Bail Breeze Designer Series Paper

I am really enjoying having the time to fit in these challenges while I am on annual leave. I am on holidays until 21 January so I might get in a few more next week.

I took a trip yesterday to the beautiful Barossa Valley and enjoyed some great food but as I was driving I did keep away from the fantastic South Australian wines (oh well, there is always next time).
